5 Things to check for Fire Door Safety

In light of the Grenfell Tower disaster and further stories appearing on the news every day it is imperative that we all follow the 5 step check.  If you think the building you’re living in, working in or visiting has a faulty fire door, don’t walk by. Report it to whoever manages or owns the building. You could save a life that day.

We just wanted to take this opportunity to express our condolences and thoughts to all those affected by the Grenfell Tower atrocity.

Meet the Team

Each month we are going to introduce you to a member of our team. This month we meet Extrusion Supervisor, Andrzej Czerniecki.

Fire Door Safety Week 2017

FireDoor

According to statistics released by Fire Door Safety Week “there are about 3 million new fire doors bought and installed every year in the UK, the vast majority made from timber. Fire doors are often the first line of defence in a fire and their correct specification, maintenance and management can be the difference between life and death for building occupants. However, they remain a significant area of neglect, often the first thing to be downgraded on a specification and mismanaged throughout their service life, propped open, damaged and badly maintained.”

We are once again proudly supporting Fire Door Safety Week in 2017. Keep a look out for a special promotional offer we will be running during the week 25th September – 1st October 2017.
More news coming soon!

Fire Door Inspection Scheme

Many of these had been founder members of the Trada Q Mark Scheme for fire doors.  Since the association was founded the membership has grown to include suppliers of hardware, seals, glazing and also leading UKAS accredited test houses. The diversity of membership means the association is uniquely equipped to pull together information on all factors relating to the bespoke timber door industry. We look forward to working together and providing the ultimate service in the fire safety industry.
