February News from Mann McGowan

Welcome to our February News…

We have had a very busy start to the year with new members of staff joining the team and new machines in the factory.  Each and every member of the team is focussed on our goals this year that we promised you in the last newsletter.

In this newsletter we are looking forward to hearing your feedback.  Complete our survey and be in with the chance of winning a Fitbit, the ultimate fitness accessory!  And remember whatever your project, wherever protection against fire and environmental hazards is needed, we are here to help.

Kind regards,
Jamie Scott
Managing Director

New Partnership
We are excited to announce that we have formed a new partnership with the Architectural and Specialist Door Manufacturers Association (ASDMA). ASDMA was formed in 1990 with membership made up of companies who manufacture specialist bespoke timber doors. Many of these had been founder members of the Trada Q Mark Scheme for fire doors.  Since the association was founded the membership has grown to include suppliers of hardware, seals, glazing and also leading UKAS accredited test houses. The diversity of membership means the association is uniquely equipped to pull together information on all factors relating to the bespoke timber door industry. We look forward to working together and providing the ultimate service in the fire safety industry.

Your opinion matters!
We value all feedback from our valued customers and therefore we would love to hear your thoughts on our new website.  Complete our survey by 15th March 2017 and be in with a chance of winning a Fitbit! To enter click on this link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HND3N9P

Meet the Team
RobEach month we are going to introduce you to a member of our team.

This month we meet Director, Rob Mann.

How long have you been with Mann McGowan?
Good question!  I was heavily involved in the formative years of the company, but branched off in what was then a different direction to set up the Lorient company and its International subsidiaries, where I stayed at the helm for 28 years.  Only recently have I returned to Mann McGowan where an unmissable opportunity arose to participate in an exciting new era at Aldershot.

What is your favourite sport and who do you support?
Rugby Union.  I am a former scrum half from “way back” and who else but Gareth Edwards would be my hero?!  My favourite clubs are Harlequins and Queensland Reds.

What is your favourite food & drink?
I always enjoy seafood, especially grilled scallops, and would ideally finish up with an Affogato coffee.

Where is your dream holiday location and activity?
Sailing in the Whitsunday Island region of the Great Barrier Reef, or touring in my 1953 Bristol around the beautiful back roads of the Scottish Highlands.

What is your proudest moment?
In my relatively long career there have been quite a few proud moments and successes to celebrate but uppermost in my mind right now is re-joining the Board of Mann McGowan!
